According to report by BBC Sport, Mason Mount has completed a season long loan move from Chelsea to Derby County this week, having passed his medicals with the Derbyshire side.
The midfielder, who joined Chelsea at age six, began playing football when he was only four. He worked his way through the grades of Chelsea with impressive performances until he finally settled with the U21 side.
He signed a four year deal with Chelsea before he eventually joined Dutch giants Vitesse Arnhem on a season long loan deal last season. He registered 29 appearances in the Dutch top league last season, and scored nine goals.
Mount’s impressive performances for the Blues U21 side has seen the likes of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven in lock horns over his signing this summer but the midfielder opted to join Chelsea legend Frank Captain who is now Derby County’s new head-coach. Mason will be second Chelsea player leaving on loan this summer after Brazilian international Robert Kenedy joins Rafael Benitez’ Newcastle United side also on a season long loan last week.
As per report garnered from The Telegraph, the midfielder will be spending the entire 2018/19 season with Lampard at Derby and should grow more into a sensational star under his tutelage. Mason was the most valuable player at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship last year, which England won, and was dubbed as a ‘Golden” player which also sawy him earning his call-up to the Three Lions squad.
Lampard is also said to be in talks with Liverpool over a loan move for Harry Wilson confident of beating off competition from Stoke, Reading and Sheffield United to sign the winger.
The Telegraph reported that Championship giants Stoke City had earlier submitted an improved loan offer the Englishman over the weekend but the Liverpool man expected to complete his move to Lampard’s side in the next few days.
