Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United he wants to sign a right-sided attacker, a centre-back and a striker before the end of the summer, reports say.
United got their transfer window off to a good start by signing Brazilian Fred and promising young full-back Diogo Dalot.
As well as that, it was confirmed by Marouane Fellaini he would be staying at the club and had signed a two-year deal to remain at United.
It means Mourinho will cool his interest in acquiring another midfielder, which allowed United to end talks with Lazio over Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serbia international would have cost upwards of £70million, but the Manchester Evening News claim Mourinho will now move onto other targets.
Mourinho wants three further additions to his side and has asked United to sign a back-up to Romelu Lukaku, a defender and a right midfielder.
The United boss has long been searching for a better option for the right side of midfield and hopes to solve that issue before the end of the summer.
United made enquiries about Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, but a £70m asking price has prompted Mourinho to reconsider his options.
Mourinho watched Marko Arnautovic in action for Austria last May, and may be tempted to bid for the attacker who can play on either side of midfield and could act as No.2 to Lukaku.
West Ham though have reportedly demanding £50m for the Austrian, which once again seems set to force Mourinho to explore other options.
Those options are likely to be cheaper ones as Mourinho and United refuse to be held to ransom by their fellow Premier League sides.
