Chelsea and Arsenal are looking into the possibility of signing Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira according to reports.

The Brazilian defied Jose Mourinho’s wishes last season by choosing to go out on loan to La Liga side Valencia, despite the Manchester United manager wanting him to stay at Old Trafford.

He returned to the Premier League giants this summer, and impressed during the clubs pre-season tour of America in a defensive midfield role, despite having come through the clubs academy as a more attacking midfielder.

He started the first two games of the season in the absence of Nemanja Matic, but was hauled off at half-time in the defeat to Brighton, and hasn’t started a Premier League game since.

He hasn’t even been involved in United’s squad for their last four league games, and according to The Mirror, Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing the 22-year-old.

Pereira has just six months left on his current deal at United, who could decide to cash in for around £10 million in January, although they do have an option to extend his current deal by a further 12 months.
