Liverpool are reportedly currently in talks with England international defender Joe Gomez over a new bumper deal after his impressive displays under Jurgen Klopp.
English defender has missed last season’s Champions League final and the World Cup tournament that has been held in Russia following, an ankle injury, and underwent surgery during the summer to solve his problems.
Gomez has been an ever-present for the Merseyside Reds in the early weeks of the 2018-19 season and also impressed for England in their 2-1 loss to Spain in the UEFA Nations League last night.
According to The Mirror, the Merseyside Reds are keen to reward Englishman’s progress in recent months, and the Reds will offer him a new contract despite having four years left to run on his current deal.
Gomez, who joined the Merseyside Reds from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2015, has previously played at the right-back position for his Merseyside club, however, is currently turning out alongside Virgil van Dijk at the defensive end.
