According to reports emerging from Spain, the current Super Cup holders are interested in securing the service of Marcos Alonso from Chelsea.

Alonso has been identified by Atletico Madrid as replacement for Brazilian Felipe Luis who is reportedly set to join PSG.

Diego Simeone is an admirer of the good work Alonso has put in to take his career to this level and he is willing to dish out 30 million euros to secure the player before the transfer window shuts later this month.

Maurizio Sarri will of course be unwilling to sanction such a deal given that he won’t b able to secure a replacement as the transfer window in England closed since August 10.

Also, the left fullback is very important to whatever project Sarri is overseeing at the club. And besides Alonso strong defending, he does sometimes chip in with crucial goals.
