Bristol City has signed Chelsea’s defender Tomas on a season-long loan deal.
The Czech Republic defender who signed for Chelsea in July 2012 for the second half of the 2010-11 season has only made two appearances. He has been on loan to six different clubs within 8 years but will now have to take his football career to Ashton gate.
25-year old Kalas who is the longest serving player in the Stamford Bridge was on loan at Fulham for the last two seasons and he recorded achievement by being part of the driving force that secured a place for the club at the Premier League after being relegated.
The head coach of Bristol City Lee Johnson has reacted to Tomas signing by stating that it is an indication that Bristol City are very ambitious by beating other clubs in a race to secure the signing of the player, affirming that it is a risk worth taking with the kind of reputation Tomas has and he would love to work with him.
Despite not making many appearance for the Blues, the Czech man has still managed to address his skills during his loan spell and this has attracted interest from club and with the confidence his new boss has in him, a more featuring in the first-team in Bristol City is hoped for.
