CHELSEA SET TO SIGN FORMER ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL – THIS IS A WEIRD ONE

Chelsea are reportedly set to sign former England international Rob Green.
No, we’re not joking.
The Sun claim that Green has put his plans to retire from professional football on hold to sign a one-year contract with Chelsea.
It’s not a signing that’ll excite the fans, quite the opposite in fact, but his acquisition does make sense for us.
Following the departure of Eduardo to Vitesse on a season-long loan, we need a third-choice goalkeeper. Green can be that man.
Like Eduardo, he’ll likely never make an appearance for us, but he will provide experience within the squad – and will qualify as home-grown.
Green’s arrival will be similar to when we signed Mark Schwarzer. Though, the Australia played a more prominent role in the first-team than it was first anticipated.
There’s not much more to say about this one, other than that we really hope he’s not actually a Thibaut Courtois replacement.
