CHELSEA LINKED WITH MOVE FOR HIGHLY-RATED PLAYER

Chelsea? Being linked with a player from Serie A? What a surprise…
We’re growing tired of this ‘two and two together’ journalism. Maurizio Sarri has arrived at Stamford Bridge, and we’re suddenly thought to be interested in purchasing the country of Italy.
Granted, Jorginho has been drafted in, with Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani also thought to be targets – but that’s beside the point. Chelsea’s scouting network is not confined to Serie A.
Or so we thought. We’ve now been tentatively linked with Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is widely believed to have a higher ceiling than Serbia international teammate Nemanja Matic.
Milinkovic-Savic would not only fit with the recent double-barrelled surname craze in SW6, he’d also add some much-craved quality to our midfield.
Our Manchester United counterparts Stretty News reckon that Milinkovic Savic, or SMS for short, ought to reject us if we make a move. They believe that the uncertainty surrounding our managerial situation would turn his career down a precarious avenue.
Perhaps it’s worth reminding them that they have our sloppy seconds at the helm, while we’ve just appointed one of the brightest minds in football. We know who we’d rather work with…
