As reported by Sky Italia, Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain will arrive in Milan on Monday, where he’s expected to have a meeting with AC Milan’s technical director, Leonardo.
It’s believed Milan are negotiating with Juventus over a Bonucci-Caldara swap, as well as a transfer for the Argentine international. It has been reported that Higuain is not yet fully convinced about joining Milan, but the meeting will be an opportunity for Leonardo to convince the striker.
The Argentina striker is on Chelsea’s summer shortlist and the Blues have held talks with Juventus about a possible transfer.
There were reports in Italy earlier this week claiming that the Serie A champions would be willing to let Higuain join AC Milan on loan for the upcoming season.
But Italian newspaper, La Stampa reports on Sunday that the 30-year-old is “not convinced” by Milan’s proposal and prefers to join Chelsea as he would like the challenge of playing in the Premier League.
According to the newspaper, the Argentina international is demanding a salary package worth £135,000 a week.
Elsewhere, it appears all necessary requirements regarding Willian’s transfer to Manchester United have been met with pictures of the Brazilian winger in United shirt have been making rounds since on Saturday.
As it stands, signing of Higuain, if possible, would be Chelsea 3rd signing of the summer having signed Jorginho from Napoli and Rob Green from Huddersfield Town on a free transfer move this summer.
